In partnership with the Department of Social Development, SANCA Central Rand Alcohol and Drug Centre introduced a mobile treatment service for Cosmo City, Zandspruit, Lion Park, Kya Sands and surrounding areas In October 2020. Gauteng Provincial government is increasing the capacity by opening rehabilitation centres in various communities in this province to augment the services offered by Dr Fabian and Florence Ribeiro treatment centre in Pretoria (the only state-run rehab centre in Gauteng until recently). However, there is still a gap as some communities do not have access.

To continue our quest to reach every person and align with our mission statement to run accessible and affordable services, we responded to the call to introduce mobile treatment centres. We must give credit to the former MEC of Social Development, Ms Thuliswa Nkabinde-Khawe. She had the foresight to accelerate service delivery by proposing the introduction of this service.
